Shirat-Miriam SHAMIR – Art curator and advisor

Dr. Shirat-Miriam Shamir is an art curator and advisor with over 20 years experience in Jewish and Israeli art. Among the many positions she held were those of chief curator at the Jewish Italian Museum in Jerusalem, a journalist at “Auction”, the Israeli magazine for art and collectors, and she was employed as an expert in Judaica at Sotheby’s in Tel-Aviv and New-York. Currently, Dr. Shamir lives in Jerusalem and works as an independent curator and consultant for museums, galleries, corporations and private collectors all over the world.

Dr. Shamir holds a BA degree in the History of Art, MA and PhD degrees in Jewish Art – all from The Hebrew University, Jerusalem. She lectures at wide range of organizations and institutions and advises them on various aspects of art and collecting, including the Open University and the “Cathedra” in the Eretz Israel Museum, Tel-Aviv,
